In one of our LOTC lessons this month, we looked at fire safety. The children recapped previously learning about why fires can be dangerous. We then discussed fires outdoors, and how they can be different. The children discussed how sometimes they can be used for good reasons such as survival (food and heating drinks, or signalling for help). We also talked about how what we could see and hear from the fire (the crackling sounds or the smell of wood burning). To round off our lesson the children were able to toast s’mores; this was very fun, and as you can see from the photos, they were enjoyed by all!
