In LOTC we have taken our maths learning outside. We have been focusing on 2-D shapes to start with and went on a shape hunt around the playground. We had to keep a tally of all the shapes we could find. Some were trickier than others – especially the oval. We eventually found this within the school logo printed on the side of the building. There are shapes everywhere outside! The following week we went outside to look at perimeters. Miss Fox put us in groups of 7 and we had to make a rectangle. Then we needed to work out the perimeter of our shape. Then we repeated the activity in groups of 14, and finally as a whole class as a group of 22.
